Yeshua Moser is a long time INEB member and Think Sangha participant who runs the Southeast Asia Office of Non-Violence International. On March 20, 2003, he was arrested for blocking the gate of the US Embassy. He stated in a flyer distributed with his statement that the US Embassy should not be open for business as usual for war, but could reopen once the US Government began acting lawfully under its international legal obligations. Six policemen jumped on him and handcuffed him at order of the US Embassy. In a statement before camera he asked why he was being treated like a criminal. He stated that the Thai police, by arresting him, were now complicite in the United States Governments War Crimes and crimes of agression. He asked who the agressor was, him who was handcuffed or those in the embassy. He stated that all people of all countries have obligations under international laws to prevent wrongful actions, if they can. He stated that in his own small way, he was trying to stop US government by blocking its “local business office”. He stated that he was only doing his duty under international law, but now the Thai police were helping the criminals at the embassy. He was then hauled away to the Lumbini Police station, where he was processed for “breaking the law”. This nonviolent direct action was undertaken just after several members of the Thai Artists against the War performed a skit condemning the US attack on Iraq. Yeshua was the only person to risk arrest at the embassy in nonviolent direct action. The embassy has stated that it is “not pursuing any persecution at this time”. Yeshua was released from police custody.

This is a protest by another American who refuses to justify war.
War does not create peace.
The US is launching a war of aggression, inherently illegal and absolutely immoral.
I say NO business as usual by war criminals.
This embassy is closed until US decides to become a lawful member of the international community.
